AWWW You Shouldnt Have...But BOY i'm GlaD u DiD

Hi my name is Erica. I am a college graduate who relocated to Nashville, Tennessee about a two ago from a small village in Kentucky called Vine Grove. Majority of the time people have no clue where that is, so I simply just say Fort Knox. And no...I have know earthly idea if there is any gold there. I love my life and all the amazing people in it. My friends are literally spread across the entire United States and I miss them dearly. We are all very successful in our own creative way. I believe that we as humans are more alike then we are different so we all need to make a huge attempt to just get along. I have always had a love for writing. Well not just writing but talking to. I am the girl that raises their hand to keep the discussion going after the teacher says" Well if there isn't anything left to talk about you all can leave." (This is the part where I raise my hand). My parents have always told me to have an opinion, speak up for yourself, let your voice be heard. I guess that is the reason why I am the way that I am. The adjective quiet would never describe me. Well maybe, if I am in church and even then I am not stone cold quiet like I am suppose to be.

My siblings are amazing and I don't know how to fight however I will beat someone up that messes with them...(Stop the violence) Needless to say, thanks for stopping by my blog. Sometimes by reading what other people are going through or what they have been through gives you reassurance that everything in your life is going to be ok. No one has time for negative thoughts anymore. That is like so yesterday and so middle school. Be nice to people, laugh, love, live life and most of all express yourself.

Right now I'm currently on a rollercoaster called life and I am enjoying every second of it. I do what I want when I want to and how I want to. I hope God is pleased with me. I hope you enjoy the blog. Feel free to leave comments, and feel free not to leave them. However most defintely read. Let me know what you think send me an email sometime ericanewby@ymail.com See ya soon! And always remember to smile, believe me it makes you feel a whole lot better.

Forget planking -- who's up for owling?

(CNN) -- The sad truth for ridiculous Web memes is that they have remarkably poor shelf lives. So, farewell planking.

Hello, owling.

Deciding that striking a "light as a feather, stiff as a board" pose in public, photographing it and posting it on the Web is old news, some Internet denizens have moved on.

Now, it's all about squatting, arms pressed toward the ground and eyes locked in a wise, faraway gaze. You know ... like an owl.

If it all seems sort of ludicrous, well, that's kind of the point.

"Owling is actually more of an indication of how big planking is," said Ben Huh, founder of the Cheezburger Network of sites and blogs, which focus largely on Internet humor and memes.

"Planking is kind of like the Rebecca Black of Internet memes," he said, referring to the "Friday" pop singer. "So many people think it's so stupid -- but they're watching it and they're parodying it."

According to the network's Know Your Meme blog, owling was first documented July 11 in a post on Web-sharing site Reddit. It featured a "demotivational"-style poster of a woman "owling" with the text: "Owling: Because Planking Is So Two Months Ago."

"Owling is what we call a 'forced meme,' " Huh said. "It's the idea that we're going to try to make something happen in reaction to something else."

Actress Hilary Duff became the celebrity world's leading owler on Saturday with this photo on Twitter.Planking, at times called the Lying Down Game, became popular in the United Kingdom last year and picked up popularity worldwide this spring. (Tragically, much of the attention came after May 15, when a 20-year-old Australian man died attempting the stunt on a seven-story building.)

Since then, celebrities like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rosario Dawson and basketball stars Dwight Howard and Gilbert Arenas have been among the meme's practitioners.

So far, actress Hilary Duff is the world's most famous owler.

"Didn't wanna hit carmageddon so I'm just owling all weekend!" she wrote Saturday on Twitter, attaching a photo of herself striking an owl-like pose on her kitchen table.

"I think that's the only one so far," Huh said of celebrity owling. "But even the fact that she's part of a forced meme that only got started a couple of weeks ago is pretty crazy."

Of course, the Internet is too big for just one weird spinoff from an already bizarre trend.

Owling seems to be getting traction. But other -ing-verb efforts that have cropped up on the Web in planking's wake include:

• Coning: The act of buying an ice cream cone at a fast-food drive-through, then grabbing a handful of the ice cream, not the cone, when picking it up.

• Toothpicking: Posing on one's head, straight up and down. A sort of vertical answer to planking's horizontal form.

• Leisure diving: Posing for a photo in midair while diving into a pool, while attempting to look as casual about the experience as possible.

All have one thing in common with owling and planking, Huh said. While they need the Internet to go viral, they are, at their core, old-fashioned sight gags that would have made people laugh decades, or even centuries, ago.
"Unlike doing something on the Internet where you just send a photo or meme to your friends, this will get far more curious onlookers going, 'What the hell is going on?' " Huh said. "You're doing it in a public space where everybody is not in on the joke. That's part of the fun."
